Community Group Tours

Community Group tours are designed to offer an art experience to groups of all ages such as Brownies, Scouts, Red Hat Society, Seniors’ Clubs, Corporate Teams, Church Groups, and more. We offer gallery tours, dynamic curator talks, hands-on studio workshops, and more. Custom programs are available, please do not hesitate to contact us with your special request.

Art Appreciation

Tour and Studio for Children’s Groups
Explore, Examine and Create!

This tour is a fun and engaging introduction to the Gallery’s Permanent Collection and current exhibitions. Using a hands-on activity, visitors will be encouraged to discuss their response to both two-dimensional and three dimensional art. In the studio, the group will use the ideas discussed during the tour to create their own expressive artwork. When booking, please choose one of the following workshops: Printmaking, Acrylic Painting on Panel, Clay Relief Sculptures.

Availability: Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-8pm / 6-7:30pm

Cost: $7 per participant. Minimum of 15 participants. No charge for parents or leaders supervising the visit.


Programs for Adult Groups

Gallery Tour
We tour the highlights of our permanent collection and learn more about Painters Eleven. 30-45 minutes. Groups of 10+. $5 per person. Includes light refreshments.

Gallery Tour & Workshop 
This program includes a gallery tour and a hands-on workshop. Your group can explore their creativity while developing new art skills. Adult workshops include: Painting Landscapes with Watercolour, and Introduction to Drawing Portraits. 90-120 minutes. Groups of 10+ $10 per person. Includes light refreshments.

Thomas Bouckley Collection Talks
Explore the Thomas Bouckley Collection with a lecture from Assistant Curator, Alessandra Cirelli. 30-45 minutes. Groups of 10+ $5 per person. Includes light refreshments. Lecture topics include:

  • A Picture Tells a Thousand Words: An Introduction to the Thomas Bouckley Collection
  • Oshawa Then and Now
  • Oshawa’s Music History
  • The History of the Auto Industry in Oshawa
  • Leisure in Oshawa’s Past
  • Oshawa and the First World War

Club Meetings
Your not-for-profit group can enjoy private use of our Arthur’s on the 4th panoramic room with cup of tea or coffee and light snacks. 2 Hour Maximum. $5 members/ $7 non-members per person.

Great for playing cards or book club meetings! Our select caterers can also offer affordable and delicious meals for groups of any size. Please ask for more information on catering when you book your program.
