Speak Your Truth (Grades 6-8)
Together we look at the profound views on social & cultural issues embedded within a diverse collection of artworks. Through the lens of Speaking Your Truth, we take a deep dive into artists who share their cultural & political stories. We scaffold offbeat, interactive exercises to talk about students’ personal desires, build empathy and think about different influences encircling their future development.
In the studio: use printmaking, mixed media and the application of thoughtful text, to build an individual cultural narrative which reflects on their experiences in the exhibitions
