RMG Fridays: The Pride Show

June 03, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM

In partnership with Pride Durham and PFLAG Durham, the RMG is celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgendered, Queer (LGBTQ) and associated peoples throughout our community. Listen to performances by Adam McMaster and Kate Reid and tour Liminal, curated by Pamela Edmonds. In Friday Film Features, watch short vignettes from the making of “Heal Myself,” a documentary on Kate Reid. Yolanda Beasley will be joining us as a community partner to promote Masters of Romance, a feature romantic comedy film being made in Oshawa.

In advance of Driftwood Theatre’s 22nd season of The Bard’s Bus Tour, members of the company of The Taming of the Shrew will roll into RMG Fridays on June 3 to present a preview of Shakespeare’s fiery comedy, performed using Original Practice (ie: how Shakespeare did it) – without a single rehearsal. Get ready for the truly unexpected as Driftwood Theatre launches headlong into The Taming of the Shrew at RMG Fridays.

Rosanna Bruno from Isabella’s, a local Oshawa café, will be selling a colourful spread of tasty treats as this month’s community foodie. Enjoy a tasting bar with beer provided by Brock Street Brewery, the official beer of Pride Durham!

Free to attend | 7-10pm | Cash Bar | All ages welcome.
