SHADE: A comedy show that represents and celebrates comedians of colour, comedians from the LGBTQ community, and comedians who identify as women.

Hosted by Anasimone Georgy, founder and creator of Shade. Her comedy discusses race, sex, politics and basically anything that would disappoint her parents.

The night will Featuring Comedian Aisha Brown, Isabel Zawtun and Guled Abdi.


Aisha Brown is known as one of the top 3 Aisha’s in North American stand-up comedy. In 2016, she did her first televised gala at Montreal’s renowned Just For Laughs festival, performed at Massey Hall for NYE, and made her headlining debut at Kenny Robinson’s legendary “Nubian Disciples All Black Comedy Revue”.Aisha was recently a featured host on the webseries, “Make Me Read“, and is a writer for the CBC Comedy website.

Isabel Zawtun was Previously known as “the baby who appeared on TV with the Edmonton Oilers’ wives when she broke her femur and they visited the hospital as a PR move”. This accident-prone former child star now a a Toronto comedian, stylist, and hot mom. When she isn’t gracing stages all over the city, she busy producing HACK Couture, a fashion + comedy extravaganza of a show that rolls out a fresh new collection every season.

Guled Abdi is an aspiring stand-up comedian based in Toronto. Since starting stand-up in 2014 he has been a semifinalist in the 2016 Comedy Brawl, performed on the legendary Nubian Disciples show at Yuk Yuk’s and he’s currently a member of the Fusion 2.0 and Tallboyz II Men sketch troupes. Guled performs weekly at shows around the city peddling his observational jokes from one bar to another.
