Join us on the third Thursday of the month to hear from a selection of musicians as they share the insights and stories behind their original music followed by performances of their songs. Each month brings new musicians, new music, and new stories. Organised and hosted by Dale Russell and Artemis Chartier.

Dale Russell is an award-winning producer, songwriter, member of local band, the RADD Collective, and has enjoyed fifty years of extraordinary musical experiences, including seventeen years as lead guitarist of The Guess Who from 1983 – 2000. Artemis Chartier is a flute player, singer-songwriter, and session musician, who co-founded the School Alliance of Student Songwriters with Dale Russell in Oshawa in 2003.

SASS is a free, young artists’ network thriving across Durham, which, for the past 15 years, has offered free writers’ workshops, field trips, song-writing camps, contests and concerts to celebrate children’s creative spark while developing their sense of self and community.

Artemis Chartier and Dale Russell co-write and perform together as the OM / “Original Music” duo.

The track “Maybe When We Get Older” earned him a top 25 spot in CBC’s nation-wide music contest, Searchlight, and a top 3 nod from Canada’s Walk of Fame’s Emerging Artists program. Since then, he released a second EP, ‘Remember When’, performed with The Philosopher Kings’ Jarvis Church, toured across North America and Asia, performed at Toronto’s Massey Hall, and received regular airplay on CBC Radio. His influences include CeeLo Green, Brandy, John Mayer, Prince, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson, among others.
