Annual Giving Campaign: A welcoming space for all of our neighbours

Over the past two years we’ve been developing relationships with organizational partners and community members to more fully participate in the creation and maintenance of a healthy community. Our hope was to explore how we could extend care to some of our closest neighbours who have experience with housing precarity or homelessness, including those working to reduce barriers to services and offer direct support.

The result was “The Neighbours Project” which supported creative community development through art-making experiences that foster connection and personal well-being.  It was rooted in collaboration with expert service providers and it has been transformational for the RMG and for participants.

“Creativity for me is a way to be healthier, bring healing into my life, add peace and meet so many delightful people along the way, I couldn’t ask for anything better.”

Cultivating creativity and connection for kids

The gallery and studio come to life with the creativity of children and youth!  We welcomed families in 2024 with exhibitions like The Big Hat and Contemporary Kids designed for children. Making in-person connections with our own families and with new friends, visitors and participants in our summer camps and school programming were able to engage in learning opportunities that were free – an essential support in the economic climate.  To continue to offer free admission, accessibly priced programming for children and youth, and a space for families to connect, create, and learn together, we need your support.

Support our programs, today

To match our ambitions to our resources, meet the demands of operating our building, and continue our community programming, we need your support for our Annual Giving Campaign.
