Let’s get back into art making in the studio!

We will be carefully monitoring the situation and following protocols and guidelines outlined by the Durham Region Health Department and the Province’s Chief Medical Officer. We will be making necessary adjustments and doing our utmost to ensure health and safety of participants and staff.  We are prepared to pivot to back to our successful virtual classes should the need arises.

What to Expect From our Learning Programs

21st Century Learning practices are holistic throughout the RMG, where celebrating different voices, contributing to well-being, and co-creating are at the heart of what we do. Our programming is designed to activate new perspectives, ideas, and connections by being open, taking risks, and peaking curiosity. We are committed to exploring the interdisciplinary role of art, sharing stories and meaningful contemporary ideas within our artworks. The RMG community is an inclusive, warm, and friendly home of animated spaces that support creative learning in unexpected ways.

For Kids

The RMG has art classes designed for your budding artist!

Our popular programs are designed for kids ages 5 to 12. We encourage the use of fine art materials in new and exciting ways to help build individual creativity and self-confidence. Our supportive instructors teach various art making techniques including painting, sculpting and drawing to inspire the artist in everyone!

Do you want your kids to dive into creativity? We have got you covered! Our fun-filled, fine art camps are packed with inspired projects, interactive gallery activities, active outdoor play, and our RMG kids make memorable friendships! Here’s the best part: we take care of the mess and our camp leaders are awesome!

For Youth

The RMG offers one off workshops designed for aspiring artist ages 13-19; take part in one, two or all of them. These workshops are social opportunities to encourage like-minded teens to create and inspire each other!

Registration and payment are available online, in-person or by phone.

For Families

Join us in the exhibition spaces and studio as we get down to the fine art of having fun! Inspired by the art on the walls, our monthly event encourages families to imagine and create together.

These programs are generously sponsored by Ontario Power Generation.

For Adults

We look forward to experiencing art with you!

Are you looking to complete a badge or looking for something different to do with your group?

Part of the Learning Team’s goal is to provide opportunities for various community members to be inspired by the art on the walls through facilitated discussions followed by hands on art making in the studio.

Achieve an Art Studio/Artist badge with us! We’ll take on a short and lively interactive gallery tour to investigate historical and contemporary artworks followed by a fine art making workshop.
