Lakeridge Health Oshawa (LHO) has a longstanding commitment to provide the best, most sensitive care to children in our community and across the Durham Region. As a designated Children’s Healthcare Centre, the Hospital provides many advanced services for newborns, infants, toddlers through to teens. The current redevelopment and expansion project will increase the square footage of the existing Paediatrics space – increasing the number of beds so more children can get the care they need when they need it. Once completed, the Paediatrics Department will be newer, brighter and offer a more family-centered environment that is welcoming to patients, families and visitors.
Family-centered care has many benefits and is based on the understanding that family is the child’s primary source of strength and support. This ultimately has a positive impact on parent and child, encouraging quicker recovery time and increasing the Hospital’s ability to meet our community’s paediatrics and surgical needs closer to home.
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The Oshawa Hospital Foundation is soliciting through the Fair and Open Process for “Request for Proposal” (RFP) for the Paediatrics Program at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

The Oshawa Hospital Foundation and all decisions makers for this project reserves the right to waive any and all formalities or altogether reject any RFP as is in the best interest of the LHO and the Foundation. Awards made under the Fair and Open Process shall be made by those individuals/companies whose proposal is most advantageous to LHO and the Foundation.
Request for Proposals for Murals in the new Paediatrics Department at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. This proposed mural should be place on a surface that can be easily moved if need be. The Two-dimensional murals are intended to be whimsical and fun in nature that would put a child at easy in a hospital environment. Visually active/busy themes, are welcomed, the design should be picture–based, not word-based. Diversity in animation and characters is preferred.

Submission Information
Please submit proposals and include
a) A one page letter of intent that includes your name and or a list of team members
b) One full color concept image drawn or printed
c) Name & phone number of contact / Team Leader
d) All RFP should be returned in a sealed envelope, box or other container which bears the name of the proposer of the RFP clearly marked
e) Provide references and include a detailed budget for the cost of entire scope of work
f) Submit to Gloria Evans at The Oshawa Hospital Foundation

Selection Criteria
a) Quality & suitability of submitted concept images
b) Letter of intent including how design was selected and how the mural will function in the allotted space
c) Project timeline: For completion in September, 2011
